DESCRIPTION
“Keyline” is a set of principles, techniques and systems, which form the
logical basis for a plan for the sustainable development of rural and
urban landscapes. The application of Keyline Design presents a great
departure from mere “Soil Conservation” as practiced by so many. The
application of Keyline Pattern Plowing for example is designed to not be
satisfied with Soil Conservation but with “Soil Creation”.

One of the primary objectives of Keyline planning is to enhance the
swift development of deep biologically fertile soil – living soil. This
is achieved through systematically designed farm-scapes. Developing and
deepening the soils biological fertility will rebuild the soil
structure, reduce run-off and increase the ‘field capacity” of the land.
The land will more readily distribute, absorb and hold more water. It is
designed to create extra humus and depth of soil to prevent the leaching
of nutrients.

GOALS OF THE COURSE
This event will have condensed versions of the same content as the
six-day Keyline coarse involving broadacre applications to pasture,
vineyards and croplands.
