Max replied to a question about removing old .debs/old source files/
/sw/fink.old via a new fink command named "fink cleanup" or something
similar (see below for full details)

If I had my druthers/I was making the command, I'd have to give a couple
of sub-options:
fink cleanup keep-stable
Throw away old .debs from unstable & stable tree, keeping the newest
stable and newest unstable versions of each package

fink cleanup lose-stable
Throw away _all_ old .debs, including the newest stable version _if_ a
newer version from unstable is installed.

fink cleanup [keep/lose]-stable-source
Throw away files in /sw/src as well as .debs, in pattern like above two
options.

fink cleanup selfupdate
Removes /sw/fink.old

I'd suggest that the default behavior for "fink cleanup" should be the
above described "fink cleanup keep-stable", and they _could_ be aliased to
each other.

I imagine you could implement most of this using scripted "fink remove
<pkg>-<ver>-<fink rev>" calls.
