All - Thanks to a list respondent, I figured out how to get XEmacs 21.4 (patch5) installed on my Mac (Under OS 10.1.2/XDarwin/Xfree86). Unfortunately, the currrent .info file which fink uses to download XEmacs is out of date. The binary source files have been updated, but the fink .info file has not. This results in fink being unable to download and install the XEmacs package.
Using pico, I edited the following file (on my computer): /sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors/xemacs- sumo-2002-01-19.tar.gz I changed the Version, Revision, and Source lines to read as follows: Version: 20020119 Revision: 2 Source: mirror:custom:packages/xemacs-sumo-2002-01-19.tar.gz This allowed fink to download the latest version of XEmacs from the XEmacs server. Installation (i.e. 'fink install xemacs') proceeded properly from that point on. I now have a fully functional version of XEmacs running on my Mac. Thanks for the help. - Robert On Saturday, January 26, 2002, at 10:57 , Robert L. Vaessen wrote: > Finks - > > I can't seem to get XEmacs up and running on my Mac.
