fink info mysql

should mention this. In any case, this is a known bug in the OS, 
where pthread_kill is not implemented, hence MySQL can't be shutdown 
properly. I believe this has been fixed in a newer MySQL release: 
However, right now the MySQL package is without a maintainer, so I 
can't give you an estimate when we will have an updated version ready
