1) It looks like you have the wrong version of the Development Tools--the 'C compiler cannot create executables' error usually happens when using the 10.0.x Tools with OS 10.1.x . Get the December 2001 Dev Tools.
2) If your fink installation has a database (.info) file for lynx-2.8.2, then you can do 'fink install lynx-2.8.2'. That being said, I doubt that you have a .info file for 2.8.2, and in this case fink won't touch it.
