The slang package has been fixed quite some time ago. You should 
first check the current versions of packages before reporting issues, 
please.

Again, you are using outdated package descriptions. Also, you are not 
telling us what version of Fink you are using etc.

I strongly suggests you update your Fink installation to the latest 
release (with a sufficiently new Fink, "fink selfupdate" should do 
the job).
