Hi -

I thought this was fixed meanwhile. The solution to your problem
is (most likely) to first do a "sudo fink install dlcompat" and then
try to install octave again.
I think this should be a dependency in the octave config, but you're
right, dlcompat isn't automatically installed if you don't have it.
