The problem sounds very familiar. I can "fink list" & "fink install" but can't "dselect" or "apt-get."
We've a proxy for http only- it runs on a Windows box but has worked smoothly with our Mac network (>200 seats). With the proxy set in fink configure, dselect returns "could not resolve 66.99.56.2 (the proxy address). There's no password involved and I'm using the correct port number in the config. Very confusing! Stan >From: Jim Jarrett <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: [Fink-beginners] Firewalls? > > >I'm trying to set up Fink to work thru our firewall.
