Well no, the Apple Developer's Tools Disc does all the setup for you, and Fink sits on top of that. If you have the installation media for OSX, the retail version (not sure about preinstalled versions) comes with a disc full of things like compilers, debuggers, a nice IDE, etc. You need to get and install a copy of that software first. Also note that the current version of the system is 10.1.3, and that there were major changes in the development tools kit betwen 10.0.x and 10.1.x. If you intend to upgrade to 10.1.x -- and I recommend it, I've noticed a big speed boost on my iMac after upgrading -- then you'll need to use the 10.1 devtools kit. It is available for free from Apple's site, but their login system -- you need a free developer's account to get in -- is notoriously hard to use. Once you're in, the download is around 100mb, will have a nice easy graphical installer, and will leae you with everything you need to start building packages such as the one Fink provides.
