I'm not sure if this issue is specific to XFree86 or the winow manager
I am using or what, but, when I try to run swing applications via an X
connection to a Solaris 2.8 server (j2sdk 1.3.1), the UIs do not draw
properly. For example, if I run the swing set demo, I see the splash
screen and a window comes up with the buttons across the top and text at
the bottom, but the rest of the window is empty. Resizing the window does
not redraw the empty regions. I notice the following in the console when
I start the app:
Font specified in font.properties not found ... zapfdingbats ...
Should I be using a different window manager or do I just need to
install fonts for this window manager or will this just not work?
