Hi,

I guess I found the solution to my Gnome problem by applying 2 cent common
sense. I located the "missing" file "gdk-pixbuf.h" in
/sw/include/gdk-pixbuf-1.0/gdk-pixbuf/ *BUT* it _should_ be in
/sw/include/gdk-pixbuf/ (see fink error msg!).

So I copied the "gdk-pixbuf" directory from /sw/include/gdk-pixbuf-1.0 to
/sw/include, and the error message vanished!

Then fink complained about a missing file called "capplet-widget.h". I
located that one in /sw/include/libcapplet1/. I did the same thing (in this
case copying "capplet-widget.h" from /sw/include/libcapplet1/ to
/sw/include/) and again it worked.

I guess this problem does not only affect my fink installation, it seems
that these two files clearly were put in the wrong location. What's not
clear to me is: why are these files in the wrong locations?
To Masanori Sekino: Maybe this is something the package maintainer could
figure out and fix at some time? :)

Now I have Gnome running again, but still with no icons and no splash
screen... (the reason why I reinstalled in the first place...). I will try
to install and rebuild some of my packages, as suggested by Alexander Hansen
to get rid of the problem.

Thanks everybody for your help,

Andreas
