Your problem is that /sw/fink/dists is messed up, containing a mix of
the CVS version, the point release, and files manualy modified by
you. Unless there are modifications in there which you absolutly want
to keep, I recommend this procedure (requires you to have the
"findtools" package installed I think):
find /sw/fink/dists/ -name "*.info" -exec rm {} \;
find /sw/fink/dists/ -name "*.patch" -exec rm {} \;
rm /sw/fink/VERSION
fink selfupdate-cvs
