Don't worry about responding to my countless emails about getting gnome running. I discovered that I had the Developer Tools CD from Apple, installed it, and now everything seems be working now. I read on www.xdawin.org about similar problems and that gave me enough info to find the solution. I love the internet, so much info at my finger tips.
