The following is reply from Dave Vasilevsky of my Mozilla installation error
(when I was installing Nautilus). It worked for me once I upgraded my
Developer Tools to Dec. 2001. I then rebuild it and redid the installation.
I did update CVS too (fink selfupdate-cvs).

However, even after having it installed, it did not work for me. When I
typed 'mozilla', I get some warning messages and then it returned me back to
the command prompt. Dave suggested to do the following and then it worked
from then on:

    'sudo chown -R $USER ~/.mozilla', hit return.
    'mozilla', hit return.

It seems that I only have to type the first command line once. I can type
'mozilla' to start the program now even after I quit the X window system and
get back in.

    Good luck.

    Chia

There were a few posts on fink-beginners about this a while ago. (By the
way, you can search the Fink mailing lists by going to
<http://www.mail-archive.com/index.php3?hunt=fink->, clicking on a list
name, and then hitting entering your search terms on the resulting page.)

I emailed Chris Devers, one of the folks who was having trouble with
this error, and he says that he believes it was because he had an
outdated version of Apple's Dev Tools. Do you know which version you
have? The most recent is from December 2001, that's the one you should
be using. Anyhow, if you're using Dev Tools older than that, you should
get the new ones from <http://connect.apple.com> and type "fink rebuild
mozilla" and then "fink install mozilla".

Of course if you have the most recent Dev Tools, then that theory is
wrong, and we'll have to try something else.
