After successful installation of Fink, I want to install X11.
However, I am a little confused as to which version is the
current. The documentation on
http:/fink.sourceforge.net/doc/X11/inst-xfree86.php states
that Xfree86 v.4.1.0 is the current 'released' version.
However, both the XonX sourceforge pages and xfree86 home
pages says that 4.2.0 (incorporating rootless X11) is the most
current one. Also, when I try 'fink install xfree86-base', it
seems like it fetches a 4.2.0 package (the name is
X420src-1.tgz)

By the way, the install process seems to hang: it stops at the
'curl' line:

  [localhost:~/Fink/fink-0.4.0-full] henrik% fink install xfree86-base
  sudo /sw/bin/fink install xfree86-base
  Password:
  Reading package info...
Information about 427 packages read in 3 seconds.
  curl -f -L -s -S -O http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/fink/X420src-1.tgz

I would suppose this is because the server is very busy, so I
think I will try and find the package at some other place. Is
it harmul to abort the installation at this time? Would I use
Ctrl-c to abort the installation?
