The locate output you sent earlier suggests otherwise; it's possible that
something else you placed its own file at /usr/local/install, but however
it got there, that file is masking the presence of the actual install
command that you needed & probably would have worked.

Yikes. Well, ok. That probably wasn't necessary, but it was worth a try I
suppose. I think your problem is elsewhere though...

Could you paste a sample of one of these dependency errors in an email
to the Fink list? This really isn't enough to go on diagnostically... :/
