Hi all, I prefer to use nedit for editing simple text files. However I have never gotten it to work on my mac. At the moment I get this error:
dyld: nedit can't open library: /sw/LessTif/Motif2.0/lib/libXm.2.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2) libXm.2.dylib actually exists in /sw/lib/ so it sounds like a link is broken or something. In fact there is no directory called /lib in /sw/LessTif/Motif2.0 Any ideas how to fix this? I'm a newcomer to Unix so I may be missing something basic here. Should I (as root) create a symlink to libXm.2.dylib and place it in a new directory /sw/LessTif/Motif2.0/lib/ ? Or will that create a 'link loop'? I do not have Developer Tools installed, so I can't compile on my machine either. Thanks in advance, --patrick. PS A while back I noted the slow graphical response of my Powerbook G3 when running Darwin (moving windows). It turns out that the response is remarkably better when running in rootless mode. It looks like the overhead of gnome background is slowing things down in rooted mode. PPS I just installed autocutsel and my cutting and pasting is still one way: I can cut from a gnome terminal window and paste into an aqua application window, but not vice-versa. _______________________________________________________________ Have big pipes?
