I have successfully downloaded Fink and installed a number of packages,
including the cool Gnome desktop which I like very much. Now the
question I have is, how do I install other programs from within Gnome? I
know I can use an xterm window and write in "fink install [program]" but
if it installs, how do I make an alias for it, or add it to the
Applications menu in Gnome? And finally, how do I start the program.
Along those lines, can I download binaries "outside" of fink but use it
to install? And has anyone gotten Mozilla or Amaya to install? I keep
running into compilation errors at the last step ("make fatal
errors...cannot continue) each time I try to install Mozilla and Amaya.
Many questions I know, but thanks for any help.
