This sometimes happens when tar.gz files are moved to different directories "in the internet" and fink does not yet know about it. My solution (I'm also quite new to fink) when things like this happen is to use ftpsearch (e.g. alltheweb.com) to find the file in question, then download it maually to /sw/src, and then rerun the "fink install ..." command I was trying. What would be really nice is if the "fink install" process would, in such a case when curl cannot download a file, offer the option "manually download the file" in addtion to "retry" or "retry another mirror". Then, I could just enter the URL I found with ftpsearch there ... as things are now, I have to quit the process, download the file, then restart the process, and answer all questions again that it may hvae asked before. This is annoying if one installs many pacakages at once. Regards, Tobias. ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Caffeinated soap.
