What happens frequently (just had it happen to me earlier today): You did 'rm -rf /usr/X11R6' or something equivalent as part of a reinstallation of xfree86. Thereby you destroyed the files installed by xaw3d in this directory. Fink doesn't know about this and thinks xaw3d is still installed.
