[Fink-beginners] patch problems

Hi,

Thanks to everyone who has been giving me advice so far it has all helped a greatly, thank you!

Ok the current problem is that when i use

fink update-all

The system freezes and needs a hard ware reset whenever it gets to a patch, it has happened in several different places, but always when implementing a patch! Any suggestions as to how to remedy this problem?

I am using fink version:

Package manager version: 0.10.0
Distribution version: 0.4.1.cvs

are these the latest updates? I have been trying to bring everything up to date but i'm not convinced that i have succeeded.
