[Fink-beginners] compile options

I'm not sure which list(users or beginners) to send this question to as I have only subscribed a few days ago. Beginners or users please forgive the hard or easy questions.

Right so here they are :

How do I mess with a configure file or with some header file before they are compiled?

How do I get to know which options are used in a particular package?

int main(){printf("Codito, ergo sum.\nDavid Salib\n");}
