Hi,
I ran into a mishap with my finked files on OS 10.1.5, and would like to
remove the bulk of the system and start over so that I can time the
whole process, then help others down the line with expectations on how
long setup will take. Soooo,
Can someone tell me, please, how to get rid of most, if not all, the
files? I don't know Unix (well, ^c works <g>) other than cd, ls and rm,
so plz keep that in mind.
Is there any advantage in installing with source over using the binary,
given that I am not a fink developer?
Also, sometimes I see "nox" versions of apps. Should I be getting them,
or not? And what should I go with when prompted for a choice of an
"-ssl" version? I am a regular user with my own connection. When
*would* one opt for ssl (whatever it is)? Is it slower than its
counterpart?
Thanks for any light you can shed.
Regards,
Dave Braden
