[Fink-beginners] Installing new version outside of Fink

Hello,

I need recurrently the latest version of a software and cannot always wait till it is accessible via Fink.

I can try to compile the sources for my personal use. But how can I install it so that, when I run fink selfupdate-cvs, I wil not be considered as a dangerous person.
