were you trying to use apt-get by any chance? they cannot be used atm with 10.2, we are in the process of creating the bin dist still.
I just tried "fink remove zlib", and there were libtiff-shlibs, libpng-shlibs, and imagemagick-shlibs protesting and claiming dependencies on zlib, although their 10.2 versions don't have this dependency. It seems I haven't rebuilt these under 10.2 yet.
