Hi! I have two macs; let's call them 'desktop' and 'laptop'. Identical network configurations (Airport -> Router -> DSL, all worky).
On both systems, I can get & compile all the packages I need with FinkCommander, no troubles. However, if I run dselect in the terminal, it times out trying to get a list of packages... 40% [Connecting to 8080 (0.0.31.144)] The port number without an address is alarming; I may have once entered a proxy server on 'desktop', but have since (using 'fink configure') set it back to 'none' (like it is on 'laptop', where dselect works). Though I can't say for certain, I believe this problem started when I updated from 10.1.5 to 10.2 on 'desktop'. Again, HTTP, FTP, and mail connections all work fine on both systems. Any thoughts, beyond de/reinstall? -bbb _______________________________ Bruce Bullis API Engineering Manager Adobe Digital Video _______________________________ ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: To learn the basics of securing your web site with SSL, click here to get a FREE TRIAL of a Thawte Server Certificate: http://www.gothawte.com/rd524.html _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-beginners
