OroborOSX is a combination of desktop environment and window manager.

Gnome, on the other hand, is just a desktop environment. You still need a
window manager to go with it, such as Sawfish, Metacity, twm, etc. The
default is twm and it's not very pretty.

I used Sawfish and liked it. There are many theme packages (part of why use
Sawfish) out there.
