You can have both Gnome and KDE installed on the same system. However, I
don't think that you can run both of them at the same time as both of them
are desktop environments.

To switch from one to another, I believe that you need to modify your
".xinitrc" file. I know that to start Gnome, you want to add "exec
gnome-session" line to your ".xinitrc" file. I don't know what command it is
to start KDE, but I am sure that you know.
