And why do I get every message in english if I have LANG as es_ES for my normal user?
When I used fink on 10.1.5, it could write spanish.
Maybe the spanish translation is not available at this time? But I find this explanation not very logical :(

Hi
I have LANG=de_DE in my normal user and nothing as
root.
When I set lang=de_DE as root, dselect is still in english

Yes, but why is the ascii menue in english, too
Compare the environment variables of root and of yourself. You probably
have "setenv LANG de_DE" somewhere in your shell startup script and root
doesn't. Something similar may stop dselect from working correctly.
