Hi

I have recently done a clean first install of Fink on my OS X 10.2.1 G4 Quicksilver by following the instructions on

<http://fink.sourceforge.net/news/jag-bootstrap.php>

and it seems to have worked fine. To test it, I installed the text-based unit conversion package 'units', and it installed fine and runs fine.

I installed X11 by

$ fink install xfree86-base xfree86-rootless

Everything seemed to have worked fine, but when I try to start X11 up, it crashes. If I start it up by double-clicking XDarwin.app, the XDarwin crash log comes up. If I start it from the terminal with startx, I get the following error messages:

-----BEGIN INCLUDED MATERIAL-----

[219cpe038:/usr/X11R6] fbparker% startx
dyld: xinit can't open library: /usr/X11R6/lib/libXmuu.1.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx: line 117: 472 Trace/BPT trap xinit $client $clientargs -- $server $display $serverargs

-----END INCLUDED MATERIAL-----

There are files in /usr/X11R6/lib, including one called libXmuu.dylib (IIRC), but no libXmuu.1.dylib.

Ideas? Any help is appreciated.

BTW, I noticed that this issue had been raised on the fink-users mailing list on November 8, 2002, but no solution had ever been posted.
