What's the version of your Fink? Since 0.5.0a or later, it has packages of Python 2.2.2, biggles, PIL, and much more. Why do you need to worry about /usr/bin/python and /usr/bin/python2.2 if you have Python2.2.2 on /sw?

Has anyone experimented with how well the version of Python 2.2 that ships with OS 10.2 (I'm using 10.2.3) interacts with Fink? I need to use VPython, which requires Python 2.2.x and some graphical libraries. I'm wondering whether OS X's native Python will work or not.
Not only is fink's python environment good, but the apple one is bad because it didn't provide libpython, so you have no way of building python native modules. (Incidentally, that's one of the main reasons we have our own packages.)
