OOpps! sorry then. Actually maybe you can answer an ansolved query I have
since you have been at it much longer than I: I'm trying to find a way to
install binaries from downloaded files that I burnt on to a CD. I tried placing
them in /sw/var/cache/apt/archives which is where they normally download to
but no matter how I altered the sources.conf file I cannot get fink to find them.
any suggestions?
Oh, no. I know nothing about installing binaries. I just know how to do this with sources. Sorry.

And frankly I don't see a way to install binaries in another directory as the one already used in the binary itself, that has no sense for me, but I may be wrong, I'm far to be an expert at it. Ask the gurus.
