I just had "fink install xml-dom-pm" fail because the source file

   http://archive.progeny.com/CPAN/authors/id/T/TJ/TJMATHER/XML-DOM-1.39.tar.gz

was missing (and likewise from other mirrors).

It was missing because there is a newer version up on the CPAN archives.

In a case like this, note that you can grab an older Perl module source
by going to http://history.perl.org/backpan/ and looking in the
directory corresponding to what follows "CPAN" in the original URL. For
example, the file I needed was at

   http://history.perl.org/backpan/authors/id/T/TJ/TJMATHER/XML-DOM-1.39.tar.gz

Download the file into /sw/src and rerun the "fink install" command.
