Just made the switch. Have Mac OS X 10.2.3, latest
Fink, and Apple X11 up and running. I've successfully
installed (and run) several binaries with
FinkCommander - but not GRACE! Has anyone managed to
get this very useful program up and running on 10.2??

Here is the catch:

Output from GRACE binary installation:

Sorry, but the following packages have unmet
dependencies:
grace: Depends: pdflib-shlibs (>= 4.0.3-3) but it is
not installable
E: Sorry, broken packages

Output from pdflib installation:

Package pdflib-shlibs has no available version, but
exists in the database.
This typically means that the package was mentioned in
a dependency and
never uploaded, has been obsoleted or is not available
with the contents
of sources.list
E: Package pdflib-shlibs has no installation candidate

I also tried the command line installation 'fink
install grace', but received:

WARNING: While resolving dependency
"netcdf-absoft-shlibs (>= 3.5.1-3)" for package
"netcdf-3.5.1-1", package "netcdf-absoft-shlibs" was
not found.
WARNING: While resolving dependency
"netcdf-absoft-bin" for package "netcdf-3.5.1-1",
package "netcdf-absoft-bin" was not found.

ending with:

checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
configure: error: no acceptable cc found in $PATH
### execution of ./configure failed, exit code 1
Failed: compiling dlcompat-20021117-1 failed

Earlier discussions about GRACE on this list do not
arrive at a solution. Has there been any recent
progress/suggestions to report??

Thank you,
chris
