Last night I was trying to install the texmacs package (using dselect) and chose to install emacs21-xaw3 to satisfy its dependency, which required that I install emacsen-common. But the install of emacsen-common went wrong somehow, hosing everything that depended on it. So I immediately removed everything that had been brokenly installed, figuring I'd just start from scratch. But emacsen-common won't remove. I get the following output when I try to remove it from dselect:
running dpkg --pending --remove ... (Reading database ... 33465 files and directories currently installed.) Removing emacsen-common ... emacs-package-remove: Couldn't open /sw/var/lib/emacsen-common/installed-flavors at /sw/lib/emacsen-common/emacs-package-remove line 36. dpkg: error processing emacsen-common (--remove): subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 2 chmod: /usr/local/share/emacs: No such file or directory dpkg: error while cleaning up: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: emacsen-common dpkg --remove returned error exit status 1. Press <enter> to continue. Here's my version info: OS X 10.2.3 December 2002 dev tools Fink package manager 0.11.1 Fink distr. version 0.5.1.cvs Unfortunately, I don't have the errors from the initial failed install of emacsen-common. Anyway, I'd like to just remove what's left of emacsen-common and start over. Any ideas? thanks, Tom ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-beginners
