Sometimes files get moved around between packages when new versions are released. This looks like the case with the new tetex and pdftex: In tetex-2.0-*, /sw/bin/pdfetex comes from tetex-base, whereas in earlier versions of tetex, it came from pdftex.
pdftex is supposed to be obsolete now, so try doing another "selfupdate-cvs" to try to clear it out as a dependency, and then try to build KDE again.
