Sorry max,

For some reason my threading added all these messages where I could not see them - so I was thinking I wasn't getting through. The lesson on etiquette well understood and thanks for the pointers.

gtate% cc -V
cc: Command not found.

So how do I go about fixing this - I am a newbie/begginer with compiling from source.

Thanks again.

Can anyone help?

Posting your request three times within two days doesn't make it more likely that you'll get help, but rather it'll make people think you have bad manners. But let's just forget about this generic netiquette rule :-)

The error you get indicates that you don't have the "cvs" tool installed, which in turn would indicate that you don't have the developer tools installed (which are required for fink to work). What do you get when you enter in Terminal.app this command:
cc -v

If this gives an error, then you definitly first have to install the developer tools.
