[Sorry if this is OT; if it's a FAQ please point me to it.]
We are thinking of porting a unix app to Darwin. Since we have fink everything we need seems to be available, but we need a fs that is case-sensitive (i.e. we need to be able to have two files "a" and "A" in the same dir). This seems to be impossible with HFS+. UFS provides this, but is said to be slow. Is there any chance to get other modern fs (e.g. reiser, xfs) on Darwin?
Expecting that people will install a new fs just to run your package doesn't strike me as too likely.
I'd consider changing the program (on all platforms) to eliminate that as an issue...
