I have had loads of trouble trying to install Gimp. I installed X11 and xfree86 from Apples sites and then installed Fink (Fink 0.5 Oa) and have tried repeatedly to download Gimp from Fink Commander. Each time, the installation starts but goes nowhere. I'm new at this and know I'm missing some key but am at a loss to know what. I'm guessing that some commands need to be entered into Terminal, or that I need a different version of Fink.
Any ideas?
Lots of ideas, but "goes nowhere" is not precise enough to make me share them.
