okay,
I thought I had answered my own question.
I tried to run "fink install system-xfree86
I got this:

> source /sw/bin/init.csh
> fink install system-xfree86
sudo /sw/bin/fink install system-xfree86

I'm afraid that most ofthis might as well be Chinese
for I can make sense of it.

So, I if I remove my present Apple X11 and start from
scratch on the fink install, will that wreak havoc
with my present OpenOffice installation?

Or is this a simple issue of a few missing libs? I'm
just a little stumped...

What else might I try next?

Any assistance is deeply appreciated.

tony
