Hi,
I have fink running fabulously. I downloaded Kstars,
the Gimp, XChat, and all of the KDE games and kdeedu
stuff (I'm a teacher).
Pretty cool. I've already wasted a good chunk of time
playing Mahjongg, kpoker and samegame. What a great
waste of time! Who says there aren't enough games for
Macs?
I installed Fink Commander but I can't seem to get it
to work. I have been grabbing things with apt-get at
the command line, anyway.
(Fink Commander asks for my password twice, as
indicated on the sf page, then suggests that I retry
to the command, but then won't run the command.)
I wanted to install KDE to run a KDE desktop, so I
tried
sudo apt-get install kdebase3
and I got a message about broken libraries.
I though apt-get was supposed to grab all the deps,
etc.
My understanding is that I could use this to run a
gnome or kde desktop with it. Am I wrong? I know I
can run the kde apps, becuase I have been doing it.
Maybe I shouldn;t bog this thing down. I dunno.
I do know that I am certainly enjoying using this
project, so far.

tony
