I have installed KDE and gotten it to, sort of, start once -- getting through the setup wizard windows before it crashed. Now, whenever I try to launch Darwin (with a final .xinitrc statement of "exec startkde") I get in the console window "kdeinit.crash.log":

Command: kdeinit
PID: 4302

Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000000

Thread 0 Crashed:

Looks like some kind of mixup between freetype libraries. I've got some patches to KDE that I've been testing that may clean this up. I'll see if I can get them checked in soon...
