I have a simple question--I know that fink requires the developer tools which is fine and I have the latest set.

What I'm wondering is what, in the developer tools folder, can be deleted without affecting the ability to compile programs. I don't have any desire (or time) to actually write my own programs or use the developer tools in some other unknown to me manner.

Also, can .deb files be deleted once a compile is completed, or is it better to keep them around? What exactly is the .deb file for?

Thanks.
