In Gnome 1 options could be passed through Wanda (the fish applet). In Gnome 2, clicking the fish will only call applications which have no options set. For example, "fortune" (typed in the Gnome-fish preferences) yields the expected fortune. However, "fortune -s" results in the system message, "Unable to locate the command to execute".
