A few weeks ago, I posted a problem building kdegames3. I have now resolved the problem.
The qouted answer was partly rigth.
I did at one point have a custom build gcc 3.3 installed. This machine is used for development purposes, and policy dictated 3.3. This was before the Apple release of that version.
I tought I had gotten rid of all the custom 3.3 stuff, but I started seeing references to libraries located in the build directory of 3.3 (of all places).
The gloves came of and rm -rf was heavly deployed on everything that looked like it could stem from my own 3.3 build. I then went on to completly remove and rebuild Fink and all it's installed software, this time without any problems.
I now have KDE up and running. Thanks to all who helped.

I did some hunting around in the archives and that was mentioned as a
possible culprit.
/usr/lib/gcc/darwin/3.1/libgcc.a, which I assume indicates that it uses the correct libgcc.
