Actually, the fact that /usr/lib appears as a directory means that your
fink installation may be set up incorrectly.
Make sure you have a file ~/.cshrc containing the line
source /sw/bin/init.csh
and a file ~/.tcshrc containing the line
source ~/.cshrc
Or alternatively, just a ~/.tcshrc with the first content...
If you did that, make sure you don't have any other commands in these
files that reset the PATH variable.
