Did you run "fink selfupdate-cvs", since that's a very recent version of g77? If you have done a selfupdate-cvs recently, then you may need to run "fink index".

In accord with the FAQ I modified my fink.conf file to read:
Trees: unstable/main unstable/crypto local/main stable/main stable/crypto
local/bootstrap

and if I do:

fink list ccsl

I see:

ccsl 1.0-2 Cambridge Crystallographic Subroutine Library

which, according to the fink package pages is:

In current-unstable: Version 1.0-2
In current-stable: not present
In 0.5.3-stable: not present

(so searching the unstable branch appears to work). But if I do:

fink list g77

all I get is the 3.3-2 package listing and not the 3.4-20030827 package which
is listed in the unstable branch (according to the website).

What is it that I am doing wrong that I don't get "unstable branch" versions
listed if a "stable" one exists (and yes I tried being explicit, e.g.

fink install g77-3.4-20030827

Failed: no matching version found for g77

)?
