sorry, obviously crossed wires somewhere.  The only exceptions I was seeing were 
in the maven.log - NumberFormatException.   With a new checkout from cvs these 
exceptions are no longer appearing, but I'm still getting the unkown goal 
failure on a goal that works fine when run outside of the reactor.
