Should we users, with 10.2.7, avoid the upgrade until these Fink issues
get resolved? I am not interested in unstable releases. Or are only some people having problems?
There is *no* problem with 10.2.8. You only need, just as for 10.2.7, the latest "fink" package. This - fink version 0.13.7-1 - has been on cvs in the *stable* tree for two days. Unfortunately, the anoncvs on sourcefourge is still rotten and has no fink package at all in its stable tree right now. But the file in the unstable tree, which you already have if you did selfupdate-cvs, is identical to the one in stable.
You can just copy the file /sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/finkinfo/base/fink-0.13.7-1.info into /sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo/base/ or, better, into /sw/fink/dists/local/main/finkinfo/
Then do fink install fink.
