Here's what I have on my system (after rsyncing today):

[ldx3:/sw/fink] prompt% find * | grep abiword | grep info
10.2/stable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-1.0.3-2.info
10.2/stable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-1.0.3-2.patch
10.2/stable/main/finkinfo/editors.abiword-1.0.3-2.info-rsynckbattr17
10.2/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-1.0.3-2.info
10.2/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-1.0.3-2.patch
10.2/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-2.0.0-1.info
10.2/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-2.0.0-1.patch
10.2/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors.abiword-2.0.0-1.info-rsynckbattr17
10.2-gcc3.3/stable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-1.0.3-12.info
10.2-gcc3.3/stable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-1.0.3-12.patch
10.2-gcc3.3/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-2.0.0-1.info
10.2-gcc3.3/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-2.0.0-1.patch
10.2-gcc3.3/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword.info
10.2-gcc3.3/unstable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword.patch

The latter two correspond to 1.0.3-12.

Hi everyone, and thanks for helping me.

Since I was unable to update my system through cvs in the recent past, I followed this week the instructions in fink web page to change to rsync (and after that, I installed the August 2003 update of the Dev. Tools). No problems here.
But before that, the last time I was able to do a cvs update, fink detected a new version for abiword (abiword-1.0.3-12), which I was unable to install since the patch was in the 10.2-gcc3.3 tree and I was using the 10.2 one:
---
patch -p1 </sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-1.0.3-12.patch
sh: /sw/fink/dists/stable/main/finkinfo/editors/abiword-1.0.3-12.patch: No such file or directory
---

I chose rsync as my update method to be able to use the new gcc3.3 and to avoid the problems with cvs. Also, I noticed my "dists" symlink was still pointing towards 10.2 instead of 10.2-gcc3.3 after the rsync update. I then "corrected" that and run "fink index" and "fink scanpackages". This time, a new selfupdate found a lot of new packages to update, many of which were succesfully updated during the new "fink selfupdate" step itself.

After that, I run the usual "fink update-all" and everything went fine until it was abiword's turn. To my surprise, the patch I had seen in the 10.2-gcc3.3 tree before changing to rsync had disappeared and, what's more, the error I get is the same as above.

Why is this patch missing? Why fink detects such an update? Why is fink trying to find it in the 10.2 tree instead of the 10.2-gcc3.3? How can I update abiword to the latest stable version?

Thanks in advance,
